Update to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework

NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) has drafted a major update to its widely used Cybersecurity Framework which is now out for public consultation; the final Cybersecurity Framework is expected to be published in early 2024.

We have prepared a NIST Update setting out the current changes in the draft, which are expected to follow through into the final version.

Who is the update for?
Anyone that uses, is considering using or is mandated by its customers to use NIST’s Cybersecurity Framework to assess and address their cybersecurity risk.

Why should I read it?
NIST has drafted a major update to the Framework which will impact ongoing and future use of the Framework.  If you are part of a supply chain that touches USA-based companies, it is highly likely you will be impacted.

When are the changes being made?
Look out for the updated Framework which is expected to be published in early 2024.

Where is this relevant?
This is a security standard that has been created by the National Institute of Standards and Technology in the United States, but it is widely, and increasingly, used and recognised globally.
